In September, we got together to review our goals from last year and set 2026 goals for St. Barnabas Lutheran Church. With 2025 coming to an end, we wanted to give an update. As always, if you’d like to help with any of these feats, talk to anyone on council or Pastor Sarah.
One Year Goals
- Work with Food Pantry to help create a strategic plan for future needs and expansion
- Figure out how to increase visibility of projection for worship. Do we need shades, an LED wall, something else?
- Continue RIC process and congregational engagement
- Continue to offer more local service opportunities
- Grow Christian education opportunities for all ages
Three Year Goals
1. If CG Food Pantry relocates because they find a space that better meets their needs, we need to decide what to do with that building and how it would impact the church’s budget
2. Community meeting with key community leaders to see how St. Barnabas can be more involved in community
3. Continue working on Turquoise Table
4. More lay leadership opportunities and training
5. Develop alternate worship setting opportunities (inside and out)
Five Year Goals
1. Work on outdoor canopy and pavilion
2. Increase outreach and discipleship through events such as PrideFest, involvement with LSSI, and new opportunities
3. Keep AV current with changes in technology
4. Set goals for congregation based on results of community meeting
Ten Year and Beyond Goals
- Endowment fund – $1,000,000 by 2034
- Be more green/environmentally focused
Do you have ideas to help us achieve these goals? Is there anything you think we’re missing? Let anyone on council know if there’s something we should add or if you have a strategy that will help us be better. We’re appreciative of feedback and accountability, and always looking for ways to improve.
