STEWARDSHIP
God gives us everything we have: our lives, this earth, and everything we own

Stewardship

Stewardship is about how we take care of all that God has given us and learning how to give back out of the abundance we have received.

The Stewardship Team at St. Barnabas is tasked with teaching the congregation about what stewardship is and encouraging us all to be the best stewards we can be. The team is also responsible for our annual stewardship campaign which takes place each fall.

Sometimes people think stewardship is all about money and asking people to give more, and that’s partly true. But stewardship is much, much more than that.

  • Stewardship is about gratitude for all the gifts and blessings God has given us.
  • Stewardship is about recognizing that we are not the “owners” of what we have, it is merely in our care for a while.
  • Stewardship is about how we show our love for God’s kingdom and God’s children.
  • Stewardship is an important part of our faith journey, and presents opportunities: to reflect upon ourselves and our faith journey, to test our faith vs. our fears, to stretch and grow.
  • Stewardship is about “walking the talk” of who you say you are, and how important your faith is.
  • Stewardship is key in furthering Jesus’ mission and ministry here on earth.

The Stewardship Team meets once or twice a month via Zoom. Team members are creative, passionate about using God’s gifts, and have a good sense of humor. Interested in serving on the team? Connect with Pastor Sarah.
